It’s no secret that COVID-19 has changed our world and our life as we knew it. People have been forced into their homes, (almost) making them forget the pre-pandemic era. However, this time of solitude has led to an increasing indulgence in artistic pursuits, which has in turn resulted in a new wave of creativity. A case in point? The COVID Art Museum (CAM).
Inspired by the lockdown, three young advertising executives from Barcelona set up the world’s first COVID Art Museum! With over 137K followers, it is a one-of-a-kind virtual museum on Instagram for art born during the pandemic. On their feed, you’ll spot everything from a 21st Century Sucks movie intro frame to London Underground art videos. Our current favourite artwork though? This accurate face-punch post. Dare to tell us that this hasn’t been your #LockdownMood?
The best part though, is that your artworks can be featured here too! CAM invites people from all over the world to submit their quarantine stories in varying formats like photographs, videos, motion graphics, GIFs, memes, and all forms of art. The most interesting stories out there are then featured on the museum’s Instagram page.
So, the next time you unleash your inner artist, don’t forget to share your work with COVID Art Museum. Additionally, you can always follow this account for relatable art and take pride in the fact that humans do know how to make lemonade (when life gives you lemons that is)!
